History: a great start to our topic about WWII

Monday 30th September 2019

Our class visited the Lancashire Museum in Preston for an evacuee experience. We were immersed into 1940's Preston where we learnt about air raids , practised being ARP wardens and experienced being evacuees. What a fantastic start to our topic!

Global Climate Change Strike 20/9/19

Year 5 & 6 walked to Chorley Town Hall to share their opinions with our MP Lindsey Hoyle. On the way, lots of drivers showed their support by beeping their car horns - we even had a fire engine saluting our efforts with a quick blast of its siren.

At the town hall, ourselves and a group of Parklands students listened to Lindsey Hoyle and Councillor Mark Clifford, who spoke about their plans for Chorley.   We were then invited into the town hall, where we had the chance to ask questions and share our thoughts on climate change.

Our class and class 5/6 S will be following up this protest by writing letters to our MP. Watch this space for more updates.
