School Council

Our school council at Balshaw Lane Community Primary School is made up of one representative from each class from years 1 to 6. The children are selected by an annual vote by their classmates. We believe that this aims to support the practice of democracy within our school environment. Our school councillors are good role models, listeners and communicators.  

 

The school council typically meets twice every half-term where we discuss fundraising agendas or suggestions on how we can make Balshaw Lane a happier place. We think it is important that we listen to our classmate’s suggestions and make positive changes. We meet with the Mrs Hodgson to discuss plans that can be put in place based on findings from the meetings.
